BulkPro has multi-user support with role-based access control, giving enterprise teams the flexibility to collaborate securely while maintaining clear boundaries between administrative and user-level access.
Note: Only Admin users can access the User Management page.
Adding and Managing Users
Admins can add users through the User Management page. Here's what you can do:
- Add a New User: Fill out a simple form with the user’s name, email, password, and role.
- Assign Roles: Choose between two roles — Admin or Power User.
- Update or Delete Users: Make changes to user details or remove users if needed.
- Search and Filter: Quickly find users with the built-in search functionality.
Important: Before deleting a user, make sure to transfer their scheduled jobs to another user. Deleting a user will permanently remove their access, and any untransferred jobs will be lost. This action cannot be undone.
Role Types and Permissions
BulkPro uses role-based access control (RBAC) to ensure each user has the appropriate access level. Here's what each role can do:
Admin
- Access all parts of the application
- Add, update, or remove users
- Change other users' passwords
- Configure database and Tableau Server settings
- View and manage all scheduled jobs (regardless of who created them)
- Renew or release the product license
Power User
- Process Tableau files from available sources
- Schedule jobs for future execution
- View and manage their own jobs only
- Upload and download files from the server
Admins have full access. Power Users have limited access, focused on file processing and personal schedules.
Password Management
Admins can reset passwords for any user in case they forget. This can done using the edit option in the User Management page.
The main admin (who activated the application license) can reset their password via a CLI command on the server if locked out.
Transferring Scheduled Jobs
Sometimes you may need to transfer scheduled jobs from one user to another—perhaps due to role changes or team transitions. Admins can perform this action directly from the User Management page to ensure no job is lost or left unmanaged.
