Wondering what kind of documentation RapidDox BulkPro creates from a Tableau file? Here's a complete example using the Superstore workbook — the standard sample used across Tableau tutorials and testing.

You’ll find both the original Tableau file and a full set of documentation outputs generated by BulkPro in various formats.

Sample Workbook: Superstore

We’ve used Tableau’s built-in Superstore workbook for this example. It includes dashboards, data sources, calculations, and parameters — giving you a realistic sense of how BulkPro handles actual Tableau metadata.

Sample Documentation Outputs

BulkPro generates documentation in two main formats:

1. File-Based Outputs

  • PDF – A printable, shareable summary of all workbook metadata

  • DOCX – A fully editable version in Microsoft Word format

  • HTML – A lightweight web-friendly version of the documentation

  • Excel (XLSX) – Tabular structure for auditing or comparison

  • CSV files – Individual files for each metadata section (e.g. worksheets, filters, fields)

2. Database Outputs

If a database is configured, BulkPro can export the same metadata into structured tables — similar to what’s available in the CSV output files.

Each metadata type (like Datasources, Dashboards and Worksheets, Calculated fields, etc.) is saved in its own table.

Each table also includes a column to identify which workbook the metadata belongs to. This makes it easy to filter, group, or query data based on the source workbook — especially when multiple files are processed into the same database.
